The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency has formed a special commission to investigate the circumstances and causes of the plane crash in which Yevgeny Prigozhin was flying.
As announced by the department, the aircraft belonged to the private company MNT-Aero doo.
There were seven passengers and three crew members on the plane, which was flying between Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Among them were the head of Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, his right-hand man and co-founder of Wagner, Dmitry Utkin, their security personnel, and three crew members.
Certain Telegram channels are publishing information from sources within the special commission, stating that the bodies of Prigozhin and Utkin have been identified and that a DNA analysis is expected soon.
Sources from the Commission also mentioned that the plane exploded. It is still unknown whether it was due to a planted explosive device or the plane being shot down from the ground.
