Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has publicly revealed for the first time the map he proposed in 2008 to Mahmoud Abbas as a solution for a Palestinian state. This generous offer would have given the Palestinians 95.1% of the West Bank and Gaza, with a one-to-one land swap for Israeli territory.
WHAT DID OLMERT OFFER THE PALESTINIANS?
🔹 Return to pre-1967 borders, while retaining Gush Etzion, Ma’ale Adumim, and Ariel as part of Israel.
🔹 Israel would cede parts of its own territory to the new Palestinian state as compensation.
🔹 A tunnel connecting Gaza and the West Bank, ensuring uninterrupted movement.
🔹 The division of Jerusalem, where Palestinian neighborhoods would be under Palestinian control, while Israeli areas would remain under Israeli control.
🔹 Israel would relinquish sovereignty over the Temple Mount and the entire Old City, proposing instead an international trusteeship composed of Israel, the Palestinian Authority, Jordan, the US, and Saudi Arabia.
Olmert practically offered everything the Palestinians had been demanding for years – and even more.
PALESTINIANS REJECTED THE DEAL – WHY?
When Olmert presented Abbas with the map, he asked him to initial the document before taking it back to Ramallah for review. Abbas flatly refused.
In a BBC documentary, Abbas’s then-chief of staff, Rafiq Husseini, revealed the real reason for the rejection:
👉 “We did not take the offer seriously because Olmert was involved in a corruption scandal and was about to resign.”
In other words, the Palestinians never even considered peace – they were waiting for a change in leadership and the continuation of the conflict.
CLEAR PROOF THAT MUSLIMS NEVER WANTED PEACE
This case once again confirms what has been evident for decades: when the Palestinians receive what they demand, they always find an excuse to reject it.

🔹 How many more generations of Palestinians must suffer due to the intransigence of their leaders?
The Muslim world has never wanted peace with Israel, but rather a continuous conflict and the victimhood narrative, used for geopolitical goals and internal mobilization.
Rejecting Olmert’s proposal was not an exception but a rule. Every attempt at a settlement has been refused by the Palestinians, because peace means accountability, while conflict ensures power for their leaders.
Israeli leaders have extended their hand in peace – the Palestinians have always rejected it.
