Former US President Donald Trump has announced that he will appear in court in Atlanta on August 24 in connection with a lawsuit for alleged interference in the 2020 presidential election. “Can you believe it? I’m going to Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday to get arrested!” Trump wrote on his social network, AP reported.
Trump was previously set on $200,000 bail in a bail agreement signed by Trump’s lawyers and Fulton County District Attorney Fannie Willis that set conditions for his release including prohibitions against intimidation of witnesses and obstruction of justice.
Trump is prohibited from speaking “in any way, directly or indirectly” about the facts of the case to other defendants or witnesses, except through an attorney.
“This includes, but is not limited to, social media posts or sharing of other individuals’ social media posts,” according to the order signed by a Fullton County Superior Court judge.
Describing Fulton County District Attorney Fanny Willis as a “radical left-wing district attorney,” Trump criticized her for calling her to testify instead of pursuing these cases, saying Atlanta had “committed the greatest murders and violent crimes in American history.”
“Willis campaigned for a witch hunt and continues to campaign and raise money. This witch hunt is in close coordination with the fraudster Joe Biden’s Justice Department,” Trump said.
