After discovering that their son, Selmir, was arrested in Turkey under the accusation that he was a member of FETO, there was pain and sadness in the house of Hussein Mašetović in Gradačac.
– My son Selmir is not a Gulen supporter, I guarantee with my life. He grew up in the whirlwind of the Bosnian war when Gradačac was burning. He was born in a war hospital in Međimjeska Donja, while I was on the defensive lines of Gradacac. Husein, who spent 4 years of his life as a fighter and archbishop of RBiH, defended the gate of Bosnia.
Hussein was educated and trained in military training in Turkey in 1996. Today, again in Turkey, his son was arrested. He adds that after graduating from Gradačac, Selmir enrolled and finished the Medrese in Tuzla. He emphasizes that, after Medrese, he enrolled in a study of pedagogy and psychology in Turkey and received a scholarship from the “Source of Hope” Foundation for two years.
When the Foundation stopped providing scholarship his further education became a burden for his parents, who invested all the money they had in his education.
“My son was at the end of his studies and in the following days, He was supposed to graduate. He only had three exams to do, but two day before taking the exam he got arrested.

When he was in the run-up, he rarely went out to town except for Friday at the Jumu’ah (*a congregational prayer, ṣalāt, that Muslims hold every Friday). At the time of shooting in Turkey, my son was at home in Bosnia and Herzegovina and had nothing to do with the events in Turkey – says Husein.
He points out that the BiH Consulate General in Turkey has been informed of everything and has been convinced that he will do everything to help the Selmir.
– I know that my Selmir is not guilty. President Bakir needs to make only one phone call to free my son. I tried to get to Bakir and talk to him but without success. I would like to go to Turkey to see my son but they warn me that if I leave, I could be arrested – says Husein.
He hopes that God’s justice will win and that Selmir will soon be released.
