KATE AND WILLIAM BREAK TRADITION AGAIN: Easter in Norfolk, Far from Windsor

The royal couple chooses quiet family time over official appearances — once again placing their children before protocol.

For the second year in a row, Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, will not be joining King Charles and the rest of the royal family at Windsor Castle for the traditional Easter celebration.

Instead, the Prince and Princess of Wales have opted to spend the holiday at their Norfolk residence, prioritizing time with their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — before the school term resumes.

“They’ve chosen to spend Easter quietly together as a family, which the King fully understands and supports,” a royal source told British media.

While William and Kate celebrate in the countryside, King Charles will be joined at Windsor by Queen Camilla, his sister Princess Anne and her husband Timothy Laurence, as well as Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie.

The decision echoes last year’s absence, when Kate stayed away from the Easter gathering while undergoing preventive chemotherapy following the discovery of a tumor. At the time, royal watchers widely supported the couple’s private approach.

This year, however, the tone is more serene than serious. For the royal couple, Easter 2025 is about reconnecting — not rehearsing royal obligations. A simple table, far from the royal spotlight, seems to matter more.
