Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stern warning to the Iranian regime, stating that any further aggression toward Israel would severely damage Iran’s already fragile economy. In a public video address directed at the Iranian people on Tuesday, Netanyahu emphasized that the October missile attack on Israel caused minimal damage but cost Iran an estimated $2.3 billion.
Addressing the Iranian People
Netanyahu reiterated his direct appeal to the Iranian population, urging them to imagine a future where their country focuses on education, infrastructure, and healthcare rather than fueling conflicts with Israel.
“Another attack on Israel would rob you of billions more that could have been invested in your future. Instead, your leaders waste these resources on wars that can’t be won,” Netanyahu said.
Highlighting the regime’s mismanagement, Netanyahu argued that Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, prioritize hostility toward Israel over improving citizens’ lives. He painted a stark contrast, suggesting that a free Iran could collaborate with Israel to rebuild and thrive.
October Missile Attack and Retaliation
Netanyahu’s comments come after Iran launched over 200 ballistic missiles at Israel on October 1, in retaliation for the killing of Tehran-backed militant leaders. The missile strike caused minimal damage in Israel, but Netanyahu pointed out the significant financial burden it imposed on Iran.
A special message from me to the Iranian people: there’s one thing Khamenei’s regime fears more than Israel. It’s you — the people of Iran. Don’t lose hope.

“That money could have funded your schools, hospitals, and roads,” he said, accusing the regime of prioritizing its destructive agenda over its people’s welfare.
Israel responded to the October attack with airstrikes on Iranian air defense systems, targeting critical infrastructure and energy facilities.
“Women, Life, Freedom”
Referencing Iran’s domestic unrest, Netanyahu invoked the rallying cry of the 2022 protests: “Women, Life, Freedom.” He asserted that Khamenei’s regime fears its own citizens more than it fears Israel, highlighting the potential power of the Iranian people to bring about change.
“I have no doubt that one day, in a free Iran, Israelis and Iranians will build a future of prosperity and peace together,” he added, expressing hope for a better relationship between the two nations.
Israel’s Strategic Advances: The Dragon Submarine
On the same day, Israel unveiled its latest Dolphin 2-class submarine, named INS Drakon, in a ceremony held in Germany. The advanced vessel, equipped with cutting-edge technologies, underscores Israel’s growing military capabilities, which Netanyahu suggested serve as a deterrent against Iran and other adversaries.
The INS Drakon is expected to enhance Israel’s strategic reach, particularly through its alleged nuclear capabilities, providing a critical “second strike” option to deter potential aggressors.
Netanyahu’s speech underscores a dual message: a warning to Tehran against further provocations and an appeal to the Iranian people to envision a different future. With tensions between Israel and Iran remaining high, this direct communication reflects Netanyahu’s strategic efforts to challenge the regime while sowing hope for a freer, more prosperous Iran.
