French non-governmental organizations filed lawsuits on Wednesday against French-Israeli citizens, accusing them of complicity in genocide in the Gaza Strip due to their role in obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid to the enclave.
The Union of French Jews for Peace (UJFP) initiated a lawsuit against individuals allegedly involved in organizing, participating in, or inciting actions to block humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The organization “Urgence Palestine” further emphasized that the accused individuals were complicit and actively incited genocide.
Another lawsuit was filed by the EuroPalestine Association and the Association of Lawyers for Justice in the Middle East (AJPO), targeting the same group of individuals implicated in these activities.
Names on the Accusation List
The EuroPalestine website states that among those accused is Nili Naouri-Kupfer, a French-Israeli lawyer and president of the organization Forever Israel. According to the plaintiffs, Naouri-Kupfer admitted to participating in the obstruction of humanitarian aid trucks and reportedly expressed pride in her involvement.
Genocide and Complicity Allegations
The lawsuits argue that obstructing humanitarian aid constitutes complicity in the crime of genocide under the definition provided by the International Criminal Court (ICC). The organizations’ statements also highlight that ICC warrants issued for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant are evidence that accomplices, including French citizens, must also be held accountable.
Broader Context
The NGOs are calling for urgent international action and legal accountability for all individuals involved in activities that exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The allegations against French-Israeli citizens underline the importance of pursuing justice for the victims of this conflict.
