STATE IN DANGER: Neće imati tko braniti BiH ako svi vojnosposobni odu u Srbiju ili Hrvatsku

Vrlo

Pa eto, neka im Fatih opet dođe, pod ruku s Al Qaedom, a patrioti neka im otvore vrata i pokažu put do Sarajeva.

Given the announcements by Croatia and Serbia about reintroducing mandatory military service, it’s logical to ask whether Croats and Serbs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who hold dual citizenship, will be called up to serve in their “home” armies. According to the constitutions of both countries, they are obliged to – because, of course, citizenship is not just a list of privileges and rights, but also duties. So theoretically, a Croat from Čitluk or a Serb from Bijeljina could end up in some barracks in Sinj or Paraćin, donning a camouflage uniform, heading to shooting ranges, training with rifles, and maybe even defending – Zagreb or Belgrade.

But the question arises: who will defend Bosnia and Herzegovina?

Let’s imagine a hypothetical scenario – Turkey invades Teslić, and Al Qaeda’s special forces are airlifted by American helicopters onto Vlašić, just like in 1992. Who will then stand in defense of this country? Suljo and Muljo from the American embassy? Hardly.

Can we even imagine these young conscripts from Herzegovina and Republika Srpska postponing their “seasonal military service” in Croatia or Serbia and rushing back to save Bosnia and Herzegovina? From Turkey? From Al Qaeda? One wonders – who in Bosnia and Herzegovina can and will stand on the frontlines of the homeland?

Of course, that leaves the Bosniaks. Can we imagine a young Bosniak from Travnik stopping Erdogan’s tank somewhere on Studena Vrila, shouting “You won’t get past!” and dying with the cry “Tekbir” – for the Croatian cause? Or charging at Al Qaeda’s special forces in Prijedor, saying: “Back off, scum, this is our homeland”?

No, we cannot.

But while we’re at these comic scenarios, we can imagine one more – young conscripts from Bosnia and Herzegovina, whether Croats, Serbs, or Bosniaks, finishing their military service in their “home” countries, and Bosnia is left empty, relying on SDA patriots, who already claim that El Fatih was a Bosnian. So, let Fatih come again, hand in hand with Al Qaeda, and let the patriots open the gates and show them the way to Sarajevo.

The question of loyalty to Bosnia and Herzegovina always hovers in the air, especially in the context of ethnic divisions. And when Serbs and Croats from Bosnia and Herzegovina end up in the uniforms of Serbia and Croatia, while Bosniaks, traditionally more inclined to join the Croatian Army or the HVO, go off to NATO ranks, we genuinely wonder who remains to defend this country.

Bosnia, as it stands, without a clear vision of who would defend it and for what purpose, remains vulnerable. Who will defend us from a foreign aggressor, whether it’s the Ottomans or Al Qaeda, while all our potential defenders parade in foreign uniforms?

In the end, maybe it’s best that we simply surrender, so that at least once in history, we can be on the winning side.

But setting aside the cynicism of this text, we hope that some will realize just how little sense this country truly makes. It was designed in such a way that it can’t even defend itself from within, let alone from an external enemy.

If you force two out of the three constituent peoples to feel like tenants in their own homeland, you end up with a text like this, dear OHR.
