The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, has stated that Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina stand for peace, legality, and freedom — but will never accept a system built on coercion.
“We are not seeking conflict or secession — we demand respect, legality, and balance. We are ready to defend peace, but we will not allow it to be used as an excuse to erase our identity, rights, or autonomy,” Dodik told French outlet Opinion Internationale.
He emphasized that this is a struggle for freedom and self-determination that will continue within the framework of the Constitution and law. Dodik accused political Sarajevo and its international backers of betraying the Dayton Agreement, which he said guarantees equilibrium between the two entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“What we are experiencing today is the result of unilateral decisions imposed by external actors,” Dodik added.
Sarajevo’s Radicalism and Foreign Interference
Dodik claimed that the core of Bosnia’s internal political crisis lies in Sarajevo, where he says radical elements maintain ties to Islamist circles that aim to establish political Islam in the country.
He dismissed legal charges from Sarajevo as part of a political campaign against him personally, and against the autonomy of Republika Srpska.
“I feel persecuted by politically motivated Muslims in Sarajevo, by the liberal-globalist octopus in Brussels, and by remnants of the former U.S. administration,” he said.
He reiterated that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is unconstitutional, having been imposed by foreign actors to ensure verdicts aligned with international directives.
“That court employs only loyal Muslims, and now we see the consequences,” he said.
Parallels with Western Leaders Under Siege
Dodik drew parallels between his own situation and those of international political figures such as Donald Trump, Marine Le Pen, Călin Georgescu, and members of AfD in Germany.
“Anyone gaining popular support is immediately targeted by the judicial system. Not even the orthodox communists did that — and even they eventually stopped. These people will too,” Dodik stated.
Support from European Nationalists
He said he has support from a number of European leaders who oppose the centralist and technocratic path of the EU — including Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and right-wing parties in France and Italy, as well as the Patriots for Europe group.
“What unites them is their opposition to the establishment and politically driven judicial persecution,” he said.
Defense of Institutions and Denial of ‘Fugitive’ Claims
Dodik called on the Serbian people to rally around their institutions — the National Assembly, Government, and police — which he described as the pillars of stability and legitimacy of the entity.
Responding to claims from Sarajevo that he is a fugitive, Dodik said this was a display of cynicism and bitterness, and that the true target was the entire system that refuses to submit.
“They would throw anyone they dislike into prison. They want a system where ‘the judge is also the prosecutor’. They brought in a German with no mandate, whose decisions are used by Muslim judges to convict Serbs,” Dodik said.
“Since we don’t accept that framework, they label me a fugitive. I think in the end, I’ll come out of this as a hero.”
Opinion Internationale noted that Dodik has consistently reaffirmed his political stance — rejection of foreign interference and defense of the right of Serbs to be represented through legitimate, not externally imposed, institutions.
