BiH – The commemoration of the second anniversary of Delic’s death was accompanied by an appropriate religious program.
Delegations from various levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as representatives of veterans’ associations, comrades-in-arms, and friends, today paid tribute and laid flowers at the gravesite of Army General Rasim Delic at the martyr’s cemetery “Kovaci” in Sarajevo, on the occasion of the two-year anniversary of the death of the commander of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
General Delic was remembered by his comrade and president of the Association for the Protection of the Legacy of the Struggle for Bosnia and Herzegovina, General Mustafa Polutak, who stated that he was an exceptional person, one of the most outstanding officers whose leadership strengthened the command and control system upon his appointment as the head of the Army.
Among others, the memory of General Delic was attended by war members of the Presidency and the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Stjepan Kljujic and Miro Lazovic.
In addition to family members, representatives of the Federal Ministry for Veterans and Disabled Veterans of the Defensive-Liberation War, the Ministry for Veterans Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, and the Association for the Protection of the Legacy of the Struggle for Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as numerous other veterans’ associations, laid flowers at Delic’s grave.

General of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wartime Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Rasim Delic, died on April 16, 2010, at his home in Visoko. Rasim Delic was born on February 4, 1949, in Celic. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1971. The aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina found him as a lieutenant colonel in the former JNA, which he left on April 13, 1992. From June 8, 1993, until the end of the war, he was the commander of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After the aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina, Delic was the commander of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He retired in September 2000.
