Dunja Mijatović won’t end up in jail for promoting a repulsive war rapist, but certainly no more individuals like her will be allowed in any body of the Council of Europe. Especially not in bodies dealing with human rights protection.
Namely, a law is being adopted in the European Parliament that will be harmonized at all levels of Europe. So, including at the level of the Council of Europe.
That law will ensure that only individuals with completely clean pasts can hold key positions in the Council of Europe, especially in positions dealing with the protection of the rights of the vulnerable, women’s rights, and gender rights.
Dunja Mijatović, to Europe’s shame, has been at the helm of the human rights committee within the Council of Europe.
And it is precisely her who is most responsible for a film featuring a Ustasha, a Nazi, a serial rapist, a film by her godmother Štefica, in which a then already accused war criminal appeared, to have had a European premiere and accolades.
Instead of explaining to the Council of Europe why she ensured awards for that film and facing the raped women of Bosnia and Herzegovina and publicly apologizing to them, Dunja Mijatović, by the end of her term, exhausted her tenure.
We note that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Croatia, who “specially cares” about Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, like no EU representative in the EU, has never publicly spoken about this part of the dark past of Mire Hrstić’s admirer. A man who, before raping victims, represented himself as a “Ustasha officer”.
Miro Hrstić is the godfather of Štefica Galić, whom the aforementioned anti-fascist included in a film about her late husband, a member of the Croatian Defense Forces (HOS), whom she also falsely presented as an anti-fascist.
HOS and anti-fascism and Ustasha honor and godfatherhood do not belong in the same sentence.
We call on all raped Serbian women of Herzegovina to finally wake up and speak up about this in front of the doors of the Council of Europe.
Note: Although we informed the Council of Europe, more precisely Dunja Mijatović’s address, about what Štefica promotes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, she did not react. On the contrary, she ensured EU promotion for the Ustasha godmother.
The same was done by the Serbian Novosti of Boris Dežulović and Viktor Ivančić.
Both of them promoted a film featuring a rapist of Serbian women.
