The Presidency of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HDZ BiH) held its regular session on Friday in Vitez, where it discussed the report and implementation of program goals in executive and legislative branches for the year 2023.
Deputy President and Chair of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, reflected on the activities of the Council of Ministers of BiH, highlighting a series of efforts and discussions aimed at reaching an agreement in line with fulfilling 14 key priorities.
Intensive political dialogue with mutual respect is indispensable to achieve a final agreement and goal, stated Krišto.
Toni Kraljević, Vice President of HDZ BiH and Federal Minister of Finance, spoke about the activities of the Government and steps towards reconciling the Budget.
The Presidency discussed the next steps to adopt the Law on the Budget of BiH institutions and international obligations of BiH for the year 2024, as well as the dedicated work on fulfilling necessary reforms. It was assessed that significant progress has been made, and active resolution of all open challenges among the 14 key priorities of BiH must continue.
“We discussed what we have done and successfully realized, our party guidelines, and plans for the year 2023. We had reports from the Chair of the Council of Ministers of BiH, the Parliamentary Assembly, the Government of the Federation, and Republika Srpska. The Presidency concluded that we have achieved the majority of what we set as a plan and task,” said Čović in a statement to the media.
According to him, there are still things to finish, such as adopting budgets at the BiH and Federation levels, which are of common interest.
Čović also mentioned the electoral law, which is not yet in parliamentary procedure, emphasizing that this task will be completed by the end of the first and second months, as it is one of the 14 conditions.
“There are still some technical details at the level of cantons and entities that we have not fully realized but have agreed upon. A joint session of the Presidency and the Main Council of the Croatian National Assembly of BiH and all holders of power is scheduled for January 22 next year to discuss strategic issues and guidelines for action in 2024,” Čović concluded.
