“We are living in an era when in a few years or decades, a new world configuration will have to be established. Serbs must not be caught off guard – we should say now that in this century, we want a unified state comprising Republika Srpska, Serbia with Kosovo and, if there is a democratic decision, Montenegro as well,” says the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.
He emphasizes that this should be achieved through democratic means and political measures, not through war.
Dodik reminds that Article 10 of the Dayton Agreement clearly states that the High Representative is chosen by the signatory parties and confirmed by a resolution of the Security Council.
“Suddenly, an attempt was made to impose the idea that the High Representative should be chosen by some PIC, a randomly selected group of countries that declared themselves friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and who want and think they can control it… That’s how we got into a situation where the Security Council did not confirm the choice of Schmit, who was nominated by the former federal government of Germany led by Merkel. The Americans tell him, ‘Go into Bosnia and we’ll support you, do as you please, and as for Dodik who’s protesting, we’ll deal with him. We’ll impose sanctions on him, his children, his grandchildren, we’ll make his life miserable,'” states the President of Republika Srpska.
He believes that the next step after his removal would be the confiscation of Republika Srpska’s property. When asked how close he is to the point of saying “enough” and moving toward an alternative that implies the independence of Republika Srpska, Dodik says, “We are approaching that line.” He adds that “Westerners want to personalize everything and separate him from Republika Srpska.”
“You can never count on being done with them. What comes next the next day is even worse. Let’s say someone else was in my place and agreed to impose sanctions on Russia, would the position of Republika Srpska be better? It would be even worse. We would lose a friend called Russia, and from these, we would only get increased demands because they would now understand that we have no more friends,” Dodik assesses.
Regarding the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, he says it is necessary to seek a correct and long-term stable solution, “and that is not in the interest of Britain and America.”
“The only solution is Republika Srpska, Serbia, and Serbian territories, Kosovo and Metohija, and, of course, bringing Montenegro back to the Serbian national essence because it undoubtedly belongs there,” says the President of Republika Srpska.
According to him, this must be respected as a strong Serbian national interest in these regions.
“Let’s hypothetically take this: how can you push for Kosovo and Metohija as an independent state and undermine the territorial integrity of Serbia but not accept putting Republika Srpska in the same status? These are double standards,” Dodik assesses.
In his opinion, “the only chance for a peaceful life in Bosnia and Herzegovina is to peacefully part ways and not cause problems for each other.”
