Former Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin has left politics
HELSINKI – Former Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin has exited politics and will join the non-profit organization “Tony Blair Institute for Global Change,” based in London.
Marin was one of the youngest European leaders and was 37 years old when she assumed the position of prime minister in 2019, leading the governing coalition until April of this year.
She received praise for her government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s time for me to move on. I look forward to my new role and believe I can contribute to the entire Finland,” Marin told Finnish media.
Earlier this month, Marin stepped down as the President of the Social Democratic Party.
