Israeli army spokesman, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, said today that 31 of the remaining hostages held by Hamas in Gaza have been declared dead.
“We have informed 31 families that their captured loved ones are no longer among the living and that we have declared them dead,” he said at a regular media briefing. Israel said 136 hostages are still detained in Gaza.
In Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, 1,200 people were killed, and around 250 were abducted. Some of the hostages have since been released as part of exchanges with Palestinians. /Hina/HMS/
